Lost River Film Fest

  • Price Center 222 West San Antonio Street San Marcos, TX, 78666 United States (map)

Now in its third year, the Lost River Film Fest will once have screenings in Downtown San Marcos at the Price Center! Hosted by the San Marcos Cinema Club, the Lost River Film Fest is “four-days of indie-cinema worship” kicking off October 17th and closing October 20th.

The Lost River Film Fest is named after San Marcos’ fictional name in the locally-shot, 1978 campy JAWS-inspired horror film PIRANHA and is another representation of the value San Marcos places on arts and culture.  The Fest will feature a mix of short films, features & web content, yielded from an open call for submissions, in addition to workshops, interactive events, a concert & networking events.

Businesses and property owners are also reminded of the local push to register properties as potential filming locations on the Texas Film Commission’s website. The 50 Locations in 50 Days push is up September 2. See the Facebook page for more details as well as the Downtown Association’s own post from 2018 about signing up your property.

Tickets, sponsorship details, and more information as it becomes available can be found at the Lost River Film Fest’s website and Facebook page.

And, any budding filmmakers can take advantage of the extended submission deadline until August 31, 2019 at Film Freeway!
