The Downtown Association of San Marcos, the Dunbar Heritage Association, Centro Cultural Hispano de San Marcos, and the Indigenous Cultures Institute have collaborated to bring a new Diversity mural to downtown San Marcos that is nearly ready to make its debut. Robert Jones, the selected local muralist, has created an expansive work that will celebrate all the cultures that make San Marcos an inclusive, welcoming community.
The mural is a community funded project that has already benefited from the generosity of more than twenty local businesses and citizens. In support of the final fundraising push, Modern Tribez Events is coordinating a Taste of AquaBrew Diversity Mural Fundraiser at AquaBrew Brewery & Beer Garden (150 S LBJ Drive) on Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The community is invited to come out and enjoy some of the best micro-brewed beer in the area while helping benefit this community organized mural.
